About Sophie

Sophie Laurent is a French swim coach and former competitive open water swimmer who has been coaching in Dubai since 2016. Having swum competitively across Europe and represented France in regional open water championships, she brings elite-level technical knowledge to swimmers of every ability in Dubai.

Sophie's coaching covers everything from complete adult beginners learning to swim for the first time to experienced triathletes optimising their swim split. Her technique sessions are video-analysed using underwater camera footage, giving clients an objective view of their mechanics that verbal coaching alone cannot provide.

Based at a private pool facility in JBR, Sophie also coaches open water sessions at Kite Beach and the JBR shoreline during the cooler months. She is trilingual in French, English, and Arabic, giving her unparalleled reach across Dubai's diverse aquatic community.
